Child Passenger Safety

Chances are that no parent would ever intentionally put their child at risk. Yet, that’s exactly what happens when young passengers are not restrained. Every year, motor vehicle traffic crashes take the lives of hundreds of young children, leaving behind heartbroken parents, family members and friends. These tragic incidents serve as stark reminders and for parents and caregivers to make sure their kids are always buckled up correctly.

According to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), approximately 7,000 lives have been saved by the proper use of child restraints during the past 20 years. In 2005 alone, among children under age 5, an estimated 420 lives were saved thanks to child restraint use. Make sure your child is safe when riding in a vehicle by following these guidelines.
